Jasmine is a feminist researcher, writer, and founder of The Bloom, a global social justice resource for young changemakers. As an Italian-Egyptian-American, her flame comes from building international bridges between cultures, people, and ideas.
In 2019, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a Masters in Gender Studies. Her dissertation interweaved her interests in human rights and media, exploring how social media is a tool for peacebuilding in Italy. The research served as a basis for her participation as a speaker in numerous international events including the International Women’s Festival (Florence, 2019), Libreria delle Donne (Milan, 2019), and the conference on Social Policy and the Public in Italy (Cambridge, 2019), Re/Future/IT (San Francisco, 2020).
While working at the United Nations’ Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Jasmine founded The Bloom to address the absence of joyful resources for changemakers passionate about social justice. The Bloom brings together empowering jobs, diverse news, and intersectional opportunities for growth; our mission is to create a meaningful space for changemakers to grow and connect across borders.
